MARKER RENDERING | HOW TO RENDER WITH MARKERS

How to Render with Markers

Ever look at those amazing marker renderings by Chip Foose and wonder “how the heck was he able to pull that off so quickly?”  Marker rendering is a fun process but can also be a frustrating one.  One of the biggest challenges for beginners is trying to learn too much in a short amount of time.  This is of course true for anything but when I try to teach something…I want people to actually learn the information so that it sticks and they are able to retain the information for a longer period of time.

Marker Rendering requires a certain knack for execution.  I remember when I first started, how difficult it was to get the “matured” looking strokes and that refined feel to that finished sketch.  It takes time to master the use of markers.  You have to be able to work quickly and in order to blend the colors together quickly.

So I am going to take you through a step by step approach on how to blend colors with markers.

  1. Awesome! If it was mentioned in the video and I didn’t notice I apologize but what brand marker paper are you using? I have a bunch of canson pro layout marker paper and I get a lot of bleed with my chartpaks, maybe I just need to speed it up haha.

    thanks
